Join the Blue Hill Historical Society this summer for guided walks through both the local Cemeteries, as well as a tour of notable historic buildings along Union Street.
We’ll venture into the Old Cemetery to hear about the host of characters who populated Blue Hill during its early days, from the renowned Jonathan Fisher to the gentle Squire Witham.
At Seaside Cemetery we’ll hear about some of the famous writer Mary Ellen Chase’s family, as well as some of the local Veterans of the Civil War including Seawall P. Snowman, who witnessed the Union’s naval blockade unfold.
We’ll take a stroll down Union Street, where some of the many historical buildings of the town still stand, including Merrill and Hinckley’s General Store and the Blue Hill Inn. Donations are welcome.
Please check back in June for the dates of our Summer season 2022 Walking Tours!
